Aylin is Director of AI and is responsible for Cosyne's strategy in developing and applying cutting edge machine learning techniques for AI-enabled drug discovery. Aylin holds a PhD in mathematics from Queen Mary University of London and has 17 years research experience in both academia and industry. During her postdoc at the Francis Crick Institute, she transitioned to computational biology and developed a passion for creating novel machine learning methods in genomics. Prior to joining CoSyne, Aylin developed new methods to extract information from scientific literature and clinical data for drug discovery at BenevolentAI. Aylin cares deeply about equality and equity in biomedical research, from building diverse teams to understanding how under-representation in biomedical data impacts some populations’ access to healthcare and treatment.
